Interra Health is currently recruiting for Health Screening Specialists And Phlebotomists on a part-time basis in the MILWAUKEE and MADISON, WI areas. These positions will be responsible for conducting onsite health screens at various client locations.


Position Summary:

The Health Screening Specialist conducts biometric testing in corporate settings where poised, confident, professional individuals are required. The Health Screening Specialist is dedicated to providing a professional, energetic and comforting atmosphere while striving for excellence. The Health Screening Specialist coordinates with the Logistics Coordinator regarding project requirements and timing and is responsible for the packing and unpacking of necessary supplies, event setup and breakdown, management and reconciliation of participant and event paperwork.

Health screens are conducted at a number of different clients and some travel may be required. We have several screening opportunities in the Sheboygan, Appleton, Milwaukee and Madison markets.  Hours will be approximately 5-30 hours/week. The Health Screening Specialist works independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a current knowledge of and adhere to all Interra Health policies and procedures.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures in regards to Protected Health Information (PHI) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Ensure that all supplies and equipment are in working order and brought to assigned events in proper quantities.
  • Properly setup event workstations and breakdown workstations post-event.
  • Perform biometric testing and all duties of station according to Interra Health event instructions, including but not limited to:
    • Body Fat check via Omron device
    • Cholesterol check via fingerstick and Cholestech machine
    • Manual Blood Pressure reading
    • Height and weight measurements
    • Maintain a neat and orderly work station
    • Maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor.
  • Communicate health and behavior change information to non-health persons by empathizing, motivating and encouraging people toward healthy change.
  • Accurately complete and reconcile event paperwork at the end of each event. Return event paperwork and supplies to Regional Logistics Coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Ensure blood samples collected through venipuncture have been scheduled for pickup according to event requirements.
  • Monitor email and respond to all communications from Interra Health staff in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service.
  • Demonstrate a visible working style, act in a manner that is consistent with and shows commitment to the Interra Health values.
  • Execute other duties/projects, as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Within one year of completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Promotion, Exercise Science, Kinesiology or other health-related field and/or certified as a Phlebotomist, Medical Technician, Medical Assistant or other related position
  •  Health coaching experience, medical licensure or certification preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and some Saturdays
  • Ability to travel with some overnight stays
  • Must maintain a current CPR certification
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner in all types of situations and continually maintain a high level of customer service
  • Ability to operate a touch screen tablet device to accurately input data and successfully navigate Interra Health’s mobile app
  • Must have a reliable form of transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to effectively interact with persons from a variety of backgrounds and experiences in a professional, diplomatic, and courteous manner
  • Excellent analytical/critical thinking skills, including the ability to identify problems, research and analyze issues from different perspectives, organize information, reach sound conclusions, and make appropriate decisions
  • Highly organized and proficient individual that can work quickly and with little direction
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time
